The 2025 CrossFit season has undergone significant changes, streamlining the path for athletes to qualify for the prestigious CrossFit Games. This year, the Quarterfinals have been eliminated, allowing athletes to progress directly from the Open to the Semifinals. The top 1% of competitors in the Individual men's and women's divisions, along with all teams from the Open, will secure their spots in the Semifinals. Additionally, the top 2% in each age-group division will qualify for the Age-Group Semifinals.

The Semifinals will be conducted virtually, requiring athletes to complete their workouts at an affiliate in good standing and submit video evidence of their performance. To ensure fair judging, all judges for these Semifinals must hold a current Level 1 certification or higher and have completed the 2025 Judges Course and Advanced Judges Course.

In a notable addition to the season, in-person qualifying events will take place, where 18 men and 18 women will earn their spots at the CrossFit Games through 10 partnered events scheduled between April and June. The overall field for the CrossFit Games has been reduced to 30 men and 30 women, making the competition even more intense.

Prize money for the season will be directly tied to Open registration, with a fee of $20 USD. The more participants that register for the Open, the larger the prize purse will be for each stage of the competition.

Key dates for the 2025 CrossFit season include the CrossFit Open, which runs from February 27 to March 17, featuring three workouts over three consecutive weeks. The Age-Group In-Affiliate Semifinals will take place from April 3-6, followed by the Team In-Affiliate Semifinals from April 24-27, and the Individual In-Affiliate Semifinals from May 1-4. The Community Cup, which replaces the Quarterfinals for most athletes, is scheduled for June 9-15. The 2025 CrossFit Games are set for August, with specific dates yet to be announced.
