Latrell Mitchell and Nelson Asofa-Solomona face suspensions, impacting the upcoming 2025 NRL season opener.

Latrell Mitchell, the dynamic fullback for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, has been ruled out of the Indigenous All Stars team for the highly anticipated annual match against the Māori All Stars on February 15 at CommBank Stadium. This suspension, stemming from disciplinary action, will see him serve his one-match ban during the All Stars clash. However, fans can look forward to his return in Round 1 against the Dolphins on March 8 at Suncorp Stadium, as well as in the Charity Shield against the St George Illawarra Dragons on February 22 at Mudgee`s Glen Willow Stadium.

In other news, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, the powerful prop for the Melbourne Storm, will also miss the start of the 2025 season. His five-game suspension, resulting from a Grade 3 Careless High Tackle in the preliminary final, includes three Tests in the Pacific Championship. Asofa-Solomona will only miss one match in Round 1 against the Eels, making him eligible to return in Round 3 after the Storm`s bye in Round 2.

Toby Rudolf, a forward for the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, will also be sidelined for the 2025 season opener in Las Vegas due to a one-game ban for tripping Panthers captain Isaah Yeo in the preliminary final. Rudolf accepted the one-match ban with an early guilty plea, ensuring he will miss the exciting season opener.
