Starc and Cummins Dominate India in Adelaide Test

The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide Oval has seen Australia gain a significant upper hand, thanks to stellar performances from their bowlers. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins were the standouts on Day 3, causing considerable damage to the Indian batting lineup.

Mitchell Starc struck early in the day, dismissing Rishabh Pant with a brilliant full-length delivery that hit Pant’s off-stump. Pant, who was trying to stabilize the Indian innings alongside Nitish Kumar Reddy, failed to convert his start once again, falling for 28 runs. This wicket broke a crucial partnership and pushed India closer to defeat.

Following Pant’s dismissal, Ravichandran Ashwin came to the crease but had a short stay. Ashwin faced a barrage of bouncers from Pat Cummins and eventually fell to one, edging a hook shot down the leg side to wicketkeeper Alex Carey. Ashwin managed only 7 runs during his 14-ball stay, further complicating India’s situation.

India started the day trailing by 29 runs and were reduced to 148/7 by the end of Ashwin’s innings. The Australian bowlers have been relentless, capitalizing on the pressure and the conditions at the Adelaide Oval.

Top Performers:
- Mitchell Starc: Key wicket of Rishabh Pant
- Pat Cummins: Dismissed Ravichandran Ashwin with a bouncer
- Travis Head: Scored a century in Australia’s first innings (140 off 141 balls)
