Konstas Shines in Australia-India Test at MCG

:The fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between Australia and India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) saw a memorable debut by Australian teenager Sam Konstas. On Boxing Day, Konstas fired a 65-ball 60, giving Australia a powerful start to their innings. His flamboyant batting set the tone for the day, with his 60 runs coming at a rapid pace that included an unprecedented 18 runs from a single over by India's pace ace Jasprit Bumrah.

Australia's batting effort was bolstered by seasoned players Steve Smith, who remained unbeaten on 68, Marnus Labuschagne with 72, and Usman Khawaja contributing 57 runs. The team's total at the end of the first day stood at 6-311, marking the best day-one return for any team at the MCG Test since Australia's 3-345 against the West Indies in 2015.

However, India's fast-bowling genius Jasprit Bumrah made a significant impact late in the day, taking crucial wickets to pull the game back. Bumrah dismissed Travis Head for a duck and Mitchell Marsh for a single-figure score, stretching his wicket tally for the series to 24.

An incident involving Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas is also under scrutiny. The two players were involved in a mid-pitch shoulder bump, which is set to be reviewed by ICC officials. The incident could potentially lead to demerit points for one or both players, depending on the match referee's decision.

Top Scorers:
- Sam Konstas: 60 runs from 65 balls
- Marnus Labuschagne: 72 runs
- Steve Smith: 68 runs (not out)
- Usman Khawaja: 57 runs
