Sebastián Álvarez Soars to New Wingsuit Records

Sebastián Álvarez`s record-breaking wingsuit flight marks a historic milestone in extreme sports.

In an extraordinary display of human ingenuity and courage, Sebastián Álvarez has redefined the limits of wingsuit flying. On July 1, 2025, he launched from a staggering altitude of 41,470 feet, reaching a blistering top speed of 550 km/h, shattering the previous record of 397 km/h. This breathtaking flight not only showcased his remarkable skill but also set new benchmarks for horizontal distance and time aloft, with Álvarez gliding an impressive 53.45 km and remaining airborne for 11 minutes and 1 second—both records previously held at 29.06 km and 9 minutes and 31 seconds, respectively.

The flight was a culmination of meticulous engineering, involving aerospace experts who crafted specialized gear to withstand the extreme conditions of high altitude, where temperatures plummet to -100°C and oxygen levels dwindle. This groundbreaking achievement is a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence in wingsuit flying and is available to witness on Red Bull`s platform.

While the USPA records database notes a previous wingsuit distance record of 12.21 km set in 2024, no newer competition results from July 2025 have emerged, leaving Álvarez`s feat as the pinnacle of recent wingsuit accomplishments.
