On the first day of the ATP Finals, Taylor Fritz overcame an enraged Daniil Medvedev, and world number one Jannik Sinner swept past Alex de Minaur.
Sinner defeated the seventh-seeded Australian 6-3 6-4 to maintain his undefeated record while playing at home in Turin, Italy.
Earlier, as the season-ending tournament's group round began, American Fritz defeated Medvedev 6-4 6-3 to clinch his 50th victory of the year.
