Zheng beats Paolini, marches into semifinals

Zheng Qinwen of China defeated Italian fourth seed Jasmine Paolini 6-1, 6-1 on Wednesday to go to the semifinals of the WTA Finals in Riyadh.
Since Petra Kvitova in 2011, the 22-year-old was the youngest player to go to the semifinals of the WTA Finals in her first appearance.
Zheng, the seventh seed, put up a strong display, hitting 12 aces and winning for the 30th time in 34 games since Wimbledon.
