Osaka pulls out of Japan Open with back injury

Due to an injury that forced her to retire from the China Open in Beijing, four-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka said Monday that she would not be attending her home Japan Open next week.
The Japan Tennis Association confirmed in a statement that Naomi Osaka "will not participate" in the WTA 250 tournament, which will take place in the city of Osaka from October 14–20, due to an injury.
