Raducanu eases past Stephens

In a match between two former US Open champions, Emma Raducanu defeated Sloane Stephens 6-4, 6-0 on Tuesday to move on to the Eastbourne International second round.


After breaking her opponent twice in the opening set, Britain's Raducanu stormed back to defeat her opponent in the second set and earn a rematch with world No. 5 Jessica Pegula.

Raducanu, who qualified for the US Open in 2021 and won it, dropped to 168th place in the world rankings following a season marred by injuries in 2023.
