Norrie suffers another early exit in Eastbourne

Emil Ruusuvuori's straight-set victory over Cameron Norrie sealed his first-round departure at Eastbourne and contributed to his dismal season.

Norrie, who fell 7-6 (11-9) 6-3 against the Finnish world number 88, was supplanted as the top-ranked player in Britain last week by Jack Draper.

Only 14 of the 28-year-old's 27 matches have resulted in a victory, and he now stands 44th in the world rankings after a poor 2024.
