Jarry stuns Paul to set up Italian Open final

On Friday, Nicolas Jarry, the 21st seed from Chile, defeated Tommy Paul, the American, 6-3 6-7(3) 6-3, to advance to the Italian Open. Alexander Zverev, the defending champion, overcame Alejandro Tabilo of Chile, 1-6 7-6(4) 6-2, after a sluggish start.

In under two hours and forty-four minutes, Jarry reached his first ATP Masters 1000 final with a relentless display of power from the baseline, smashing thirteen aces and thirty-five winners.

Using his serve to take a 5-3 lead in the opening set, Jarry finished the set with a stunning ace.
