Emma Raducanu defeated by Elina Svitolina

After losing to second seed Elina Svitolina 6-7 (5-7) 7-6 (7-3) 6-1 in the second round of the Auckland Classic, Emma Raducanu is eliminated.

Playing in her second match following surgery on her ankle and wrist, the British player jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in the opening set and eventually won the tie-break.


After a second tie-break, Svitolina won the match, and in just thirty-one minutes, Raducanu was fatigued and Svitolina won the third.

Raducanu's next assignment is the Australian Open, which starts on January 14.
