Badosa`s quarterfinal victory over Gauff at the Australian Open marks her first Grand Slam semifinal appearance.

Paula Badosa delivered a stunning performance at the Australian Open 2025, defeating third-seeded Coco Gauff 7-5, 6-4 in the quarterfinals. This victory not only ended Gauff`s impressive 13-match winning streak but also marked Badosa`s first Grand Slam semifinal appearance. The match, held at the iconic Rod Laver Arena, lasted one hour and 43 minutes, showcasing Badosa`s resilience as she overcame a back injury that had affected her ranking in 2024.

Badosa`s tactical prowess was evident as she broke Gauff`s serve multiple times and maintained her composure during critical moments of the match. Gauff, the reigning US Open champion, struggled to capitalize on key points, ultimately falling short against the determined Spaniard. Badosa`s next challenge will be against either Aryna Sabalenka or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the semifinals.

In other tennis news, Naomi Osaka secured her first WTA title since 2021 at the L`Open 35 de Saint-Malo in France, although this event is not related to Australian competitions. As of May 4, 2025, no additional Australian-specific tennis results or events have been reported beyond the Australian Open quarterfinals. For more details on Badosa`s victory, visit this link.
