FIU women`s tennis swept Liberty 4-0, advancing to the C-USA final, while Navy men’s team also triumphed 4-0.

FIU`s women`s tennis team showcased their prowess by sweeping Liberty 4-0 on April 18, 2025, in Lynchburg, Virginia. This victory propelled them into their third consecutive Conference USA Championship final, demonstrating their dominance throughout the match by winning all singles and doubles contests decisively. The team is now poised for the final showdown scheduled for April 19, 2025, at 10 a.m.

In men`s tennis, the Navy team, top-seeded in their league tournament, also achieved a commanding 4-0 victory over Boston University in the quarterfinals. Navy`s strong start in doubles set the tone for the match, with J.J. Etterbeek clinching a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, while Nathan Nguyen secured the clinching point with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 2 singles.

In the Southern Conference Men’s Tennis Championship semifinals, fifth-seeded Furman pulled off a significant upset by defeating top-seeded East Tennessee State 4-3. Meanwhile, the No. 16 USC Trojans dominated Rutgers 4-0 at the David X. Marks Tennis Stadium in Los Angeles. In the Summit League semifinals, Illinois State`s men’s tennis team fell 5-0 to top-seeded Denver Pioneers, concluding their season with a 7-17 overall record.
