Thrilling performances at the Indian Open of Surfing highlight India`s rising stars in the sport, with Kamali Moorthy and Srikanth D. shining brightly.

The Indian Open of Surfing recently unfolded at the Mantra Surf Club, showcasing the burgeoning talent within the nation’s surfing community. Under the auspices of the Surfing Federation of India and organized by the Surfing Swami Foundation, the event witnessed thrilling performances despite challenging weather conditions.

Tamil Nadu`s Srikanth D. clinched the Men’s Open title, demonstrating exceptional skill and determination. Meanwhile, Kamali Moorthy continued her reign in the Women’s Open category, defending her title with a score of 13.33, leaving Sugar Shanti Banarse trailing at 10.50. Shrishti Selvam rounded out the podium with a score of 2.47. Kamali`s prowess was further highlighted as she dominated the Groms Girls (U-16) category, achieving the highest heat total of the event at 15.50, far surpassing Aadya Singh (2.36) and Saanvi Hegde (2.2.

In a fiercely contested Groms Boys (U-16) final, Prahlad Sriram emerged victorious with a score of 11.06, edging out Harish P. (9.67) and Som Sethi (9.3. The event`s opening day faced delays due to heavy rainfall and unsafe sea conditions, but the competition proceeded behind closed doors, ensuring safety while highlighting the resilience of India’s surfing scene.
