Green Shines at Rip Curl Nationals in Tofino

Green dominates the Rip Curl Nationals in Tofino, winning U16 and Under-18 titles while showcasing Canada`s surfing talent.

Green showcased an extraordinary performance at the Rip Curl Nationals in Tofino, dominating the U16 division with a remarkable score of 17. This impressive feat placed her well ahead of her closest competitors, Camille Cortazzo (11.04), Teagan Sandvig (10.07), and Jade Rosene (5.67). Not only did Green excel in the U16 category, but she also clinched victory in the Under-18 Girls Division, further solidifying her status as a rising star in Canadian surfing.

The competition was fierce, particularly in the Open Women’s Division, where Green finished a commendable second, just behind Mathea Demphle-Olin. Meanwhile, Tanner Sandvig from San Clemente, California, triumphed in the Under-16 Boys Division with a score of 13.63, narrowly edging out Samuel Weber`s 13.37. Shea Bruhwiler claimed the Under-18 Boys Division title, while Shannon Campbell Brown, head coach of Canada’s National Surfing Team, emerged victorious in the 40+ Men’s Division.

The event not only highlighted individual talent but also underscored the growing prowess of West Coast surfing, as competitors praised Tofino’s challenging yet rewarding waves, setting the stage for future surfing excellence in Canada.
