India`s Velavan Senthilkumar showcased his fighting spirit at the 2025 Asian Squash Championships in Kuala Lumpur, securing a bronze medal after a grueling semi-final against Hong Kong`s second seed, Alex Lau Tsz Kwan. The match, lasting 65 minutes, saw Senthilkumar, ranked 45th in the world, battling fiercely but ultimately succumbing 1-3, with scores of 9-11, 11-13, 11-5, and 6-11.

Despite narrowly losing the first two games, Senthilkumar`s determination shone through as he clinched the third game, igniting hopes of a comeback. However, Lau`s dominance in the fourth game extinguished those hopes, sealing the match in his favor. This bronze medal marks Senthilkumar`s second consecutive podium finish at the continental event, following his silver in 2023.
