Nour El Sherbini and Mostafa Asal showcased their dominance at the 2024-25 PSA World Championships in Chicago, clinching the singles titles and reinforcing Egypt`s supremacy in squash. El Sherbini, at 29 years old, secured her eighth world title by defeating fellow Egyptian Hania El Hammamy in a thrilling four-set match, with scores of 11-5, 11-9, 4-11, 11-7. This victory not only marks a personal milestone for El Sherbini, who has reached ten consecutive World Championship finals, but also ties her with Malaysian legend Nicol David for the most world titles in history.

On the men`s side, Mostafa Asal emerged victorious, overcoming four-time world champion Ali Farag in a swift 41-minute encounter, finishing with scores of 1-7, 11-8, 11-3. Asal`s triumph is particularly significant as he did not drop a single game throughout the tournament, solidifying his status as World No.1 and world champion. He expressed immense pride in his achievement, emphasizing the mental hurdles he overcame during the competition.

The event attracted significant attention, highlighting the elite level of squash and setting the stage for upcoming tournaments, including the Squash Advantage Satellite Tournament in Whippany, NJ, and the recently concluded MA Squash Softball Doubles Tournament in Acton, MA.
