Marco Odermatt and Sofia Goggia excelled in Kvitfjell, solidifying their leads in the World Cup standings.

Swiss skier Marco Odermatt showcased his dominance in the men’s downhill at Kvitfjell, Norway, clocking a remarkable time of 1:44.42. He narrowly defeated Austria`s Vincent Kriechmayr by just 0.12 seconds, while Norway`s Aleksander Aamodt Kilde secured third place, finishing 0.31 seconds behind. This victory further cements Odermatt`s lead in the overall World Cup standings, now boasting a 386-point advantage over Kriechmayr.

In the women’s super-G, Italy`s Sofia Goggia claimed victory with a time of 1:25.73, edging out Switzerland`s Lara Gut-Behrami by 0.15 seconds, and Austria`s Cornelia Huetter, who finished 0.24 seconds behind. Goggia`s win enhances her lead in the super-G discipline standings, while Gut-Behrami remains at the top of the overall World Cup leaderboard.

The thrilling races attracted around 15,000 spectators to the historic Olympiabakken course, a venue that previously hosted events during the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics. Noteworthy was American Mikaela Shiffrin`s return to form, finishing sixth in the super-G after recovering from a mid-season injury. The World Cup circuit now heads to Kranjska Gora, Slovenia, where the competition for crystal globes will intensify as the season approaches its climax.
