Man prosecuted for social media abuse of World Cup

For mistreating a match official on social media during the Rugby World Cup in 2023, a man has been charged in Australia.

During England's victory over Samoa, Aaron Isaia mistreated Television Match Official (TMO) Brian MacNeice and his family.

At a magistrates' court outside of Brisbane, Isaia, 22, entered a guilty plea to one count of threatening or harassing someone over an online communication medium.
