golf: Disc Golf Thrives with UFOS 2025 Bag Tag Event, 01/2025, English, United States


Disc golf continues to gain momentum across the United States with a series of exciting tournaments recently held. On January 10, the United Flyers of Sonoma County hosted the UFOS 2025 Bag Tag and Membership Round at Taylor Mountain Regional Park in Santa Rosa, CA, attracting 224 registrants. This event showcased the growing popularity of disc golf in the region and provided players with an opportunity to compete and connect with fellow enthusiasts.

On the same day, the Indoor Disc Golf Experience - Singles Ace Run, sponsored by Innova, took place at Brookfield Soccer Complex in Brookfield, WI, with 107 participants. This event highlighted the versatility of disc golf, allowing players to enjoy the sport indoors during the winter months. Additionally, the 2025 Tocobaga Games Tee Time Toss, presented by Latitude 64, was held at Maximo Park in St. Petersburg, FL, drawing 48 registrants, while the Wk 2 - Hellwood Putting League took place at Hells Gate Haunted House in Lockport, IL, with 120 players joining in.

The following day, January 11, saw the SeaTac Tree Smack VIII (MA1 & MA3), sponsored by Dynamic Discs, at Seatac DGC in Seatac, WA, with 62 registrants. This event was complemented by the 2025 Bag Tag Challenge and Membership Drive at Kelley Park in San Jose, CA, which attracted 142 players. The RCDGA 2024 Club Championship at Ed Austin Park in Jacksonville, FL, also took place, featuring 109 participants, while the A Match Made in Hell at The Gates of Hell Disc Golf Course in Valley Center, CA, had 24 registrants. The Welcome to Iceburg event, presented by Play It Again Sports Hattiesburg, was a doubles competition at Paul B. Johnson State Park in Hattiesburg, MS, with 62 players.

On January 12, the SeaTac Tree Smack VIII continued with All Women’s Divisions and MA40, again sponsored by Dynamic Discs, attracting 47 participants and offering an added cash prize of $750. Other events included the Knox Frost League 2025 Week 2 at The Mounds in Oak Ridge, TN, with 22 registrants, and the 2025 Chain Mail Challenge - UCF Disc Golf Fundraiser Flex Start at UCF Disc Golf Course in Orlando, FL. The CODGHOF Winter Series 2025: Stop 4 was a C-tier event at ULTRA DiscGolfPark in Fort Collins, CO, with 47 registrants, while the Park 'Em at Markham, hosted by Tri-Fly Disc Golf, took place at Markham Park in Sunrise, FL, with 87 participants.

Looking ahead, several notable events are scheduled. The 2025 Keep Dubs Alive! doubles event at Skull Mountain in Somerset, CA, is set for January 18, with 112 registrants expected. The DeBary Open, presented by discgolfcenter.com, will take place at River City Nature Park in DeBary, FL, on January 18-19, with 138 participants anticipated. Additionally, the Fresno CVS, presented by Fresno Flight Center and DGA, will occur at Woodward Legacy DGC in Fresno, CA, on January 18, with 100 registrants.
