Hamad-Djokovic secures Serbia’s Davis Cup status

Serbia retained its spot in World Group I of the Davis Cup as former world number one Novak Djokovic and doubles partner Hamad Medjedovic sealed a 3-0 play-off victory against Greece on Sunday.
Playing in his first competitive match since falling in the US Open 2024 third round, the 37-year-old and his 21-year-old teammate defeated Aristotelis Thanos and Petros Tsitsipas, the younger brother of Stefanos, who was forced to withdraw, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
