Lionel Messi led Inter Miami to a 5-0 victory over Olimpia, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Lionel Messi showcased his brilliance in Inter Miami`s friendly match against Club Deportivo Olimpia, leading his team to a resounding 5-0 victory on February 8, 2025. The match, held at the Olimpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, marked Inter Miami`s fourth friendly of the preseason.

Messi opened the scoring in the 26th minute, receiving a well-timed pass from Luis Suárez, who selflessly set up the Argentine to slot the ball into an empty net. Just before halftime, Messi further demonstrated his playmaking ability with two assists. His first came in the 44th minute, delivering a precise pass to Federico Redondo, who struck powerfully to extend the lead to 2-0. Moments later, Messi evaded the goalkeeper and laid off a perfect pass to Noah Allen, who scored to make it 3-0.

In the second half, Luis Suárez added to the tally with a goal assisted by Benjamin Cremaschi, bringing the score to 4-0. Ryan Sailor capped off the dominant performance with a goal in the 79th minute, finalizing the score at 5-0. Messi and Suárez were substituted in the 63rd minute but left a lasting impact on the game, earning a standing ovation from the home crowd. Inter Miami will next face Orlando City SC on February 14, followed by their CONCACAF Champions Cup campaign against Sporting Kansas City on February 18.
