Sanchez Vicariogets two-year suspended sentence

Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, the former world champion, received a suspended two-year prison sentence for fraud.

A criminal court in Barcelona found Sanchez Vicario, her ex-husband Josep Santacana, and three other individuals guilty of concealing assets to evade payment of a loan owed to the Bank of Luxembourg.


Santacana received a three-year, three-month prison sentence.

Along with being forced to pay 6.6 million euros (£5.6 million) in compensation, the couple refuted the allegations.
