Canadian National Pickleball League Expands with New Teams

The CNPL expands with new franchises and players, while Manitoba prepares for key pickleball tournaments and charity events.

The Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL) has made significant strides with its third annual draft, adding 40 new players to its roster, which now totals 48. This year`s draft was filled with unexpected twists and inspiring stories of perseverance, showcasing the resilience of the athletes involved.

Expansion is on the horizon for the CNPL, with the introduction of new franchises such as the Northern Lights Pickleball Club in Ontario and the Detroit-Windsor Drive. This marks a pivotal growth phase for the league, promising to enhance the competitive landscape of pickleball in Canada.

In a move to standardize player ratings and ensure competitive integrity, the CNPL has partnered with Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR). This collaboration aims to elevate the level of play across the league.

Manitoba is gearing up for a series of exciting tournaments, including the Manitoba Provincial Championships in Winnipeg from May 29 to June 1, and the Manitoba 55+ Games in Steinbach from June 3 to 5. Additionally, the 1st Annual Feisty Pickles Charity Pickleball Tournament took place on April 5 in Saskatoon, supporting Lung Saskatchewan.
