India`s men`s and women`s teams have made history by clinching the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025, held in New Delhi from January 13 to 19. The men`s team triumphed over Nepal in the final with a commanding score of 78-40, showcasing their dominance throughout the tournament. Earlier, they secured their spot in the final by defeating South Africa in a thrilling match, finishing with a score of 62-42.

The Indian women`s team mirrored this success, also defeating Nepal 78-40 in their final match. Their journey to the championship included impressive victories against Malaysia and South Africa, where they notably registered a staggering 157-point win against South Korea, demonstrating their exceptional skills and strategic prowess.

The tournament featured 20 men`s teams and 19 women`s teams, all supported by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The matches were broadcast exclusively on Star Sports and streamed on platforms like Disney+ Hotstar, JioCinema, and Doordarshan, attracting significant viewership and engagement. High-profile ambassadors, including Salman Khan and Tiger Shroff, were involved in promoting the sport, further amplifying awareness among sports enthusiasts.
