In an intense final at Alexandra Palace, England's Luke Humphries overcame teenager Luke Littler 7–4 to win his first PDC World Championship championship.

After making an incredible run to the final, Littler, 16, was hoping to become the youngest world champion in darts history.


Nevertheless, Humphries, the pre-event favorite who rose to the top of the world rankings on Tuesday, easily defeated his challenge to win the £500,000 first prize.
