The 2025 World Snooker Championship is poised to commence on April 19, 2025, at the iconic Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. The draw for the tournament will take place on April 17, 2025, at 8:45 AM UK time. The qualifying rounds, held from April 7 to 16 at the English Institute of Sport, showcased thrilling performances from several players.

Daniel Wells made headlines by securing his first Crucible appearance with a nail-biting 10-9 victory over Gary Wilson. David Gilbert also triumphed, edging past Aaron Hill with a similar scoreline to claim his 11th trip to the Crucible. Amateur Zhao Xintong will join the ranks after defeating Elliot Slessor 10-8, while Ben Woollaston earned his second appearance with a convincing 10-4 win over Ross Muir.

The tournament boasts an impressive total prize fund of £2,395,000, with the champion set to receive £500,000. The competition will be broadcast across major networks including the BBC, Eurosport, and WST Play. Defending champion Kyren Wilson will seek to break the so-called "Crucible curse," while the legendary Ronnie O`Sullivan is expected to participate, although he has yet to confirm his entry. Notably, this year`s event will feature a record ten Chinese players competing at the Crucible.
