Kenya Athlete Disqualify After Winning Silver

Kenya's Faith Kipyegon believed she had secured a silver medal in the women's 5000m race, but minutes later, she was disqualified for obstruction following an incident with Ethiopia’s Gudaf Tsegay two laps before the finish.

Netherlands' Sifan Hassan, now set to receive silver, informed her teammate and gold medal winner Beatrice Chebet, who was puzzled by the decision.

Team Kenya plans to appeal the ruling.
