WA Introduces Prize Money For Gold Medalists

World Athletics has announced that all track and field gold medalists at the #parisolympics2024 will be awarded US$50,000 each. Relay teams will get the same amount to share amongst themselves.

The prize money will be extended to all podium finishers at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028.

By this World Athletics becomes the first international federation to award prize money at an Olympic Games.
