Russian athletes not part of opening cermony

The International Olympic Committee has announced that Russian and Belarusian competitors would not participate in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

Both countries' athletes were barred from competing when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

However, athletes from Russia and Belarus who qualify for the Games may compete as neutrals.
