Remo Stars` historic 4-1 victory crowns them NPFL Champions, marking Ogun State`s first title win in the league.

Remo Stars have made history by clinching the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, following a commanding 4-1 victory over Ikorodu City on May 11. This triumph marks a significant milestone as Remo Stars becomes the first club from Ogun State to lift the prestigious trophy, finishing the season with an impressive 71 points.

The match, held at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, saw Ikorodu City initially take the lead with a goal from Tosin Oyedokun in the 15th minute. However, Remo Stars quickly turned the tide, equalizing through Sikiru Alimi in the 37th minute. The home side then surged ahead with goals from Ibrahim Shuaib, Babatunde Bello, and Olamilekan Adedayo in quick succession, solidifying their dominance.

The victory celebration was a grand affair, attended by prominent figures such as Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun and Nigeria Football Federation President Ibrahim Gusau. With this championship win, Remo Stars will proudly represent Nigeria in the 2025 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, joining fellow Nigerian clubs Rivers United and Abia Warriors in the continental competition.
