Remo Stars win their first NPFL title with a late goal from Lekan Adedayo, marking a historic achievement.

Remo Stars have etched their name in history by clinching their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title. The Sky Blue Stars secured this monumental victory with a narrow 1-0 win over Niger Tornadoes, highlighted by an 84th-minute goal from Lekan Adedayo in Ikenne. This triumph marks a significant turnaround after two consecutive seasons as runners-up.

With this victory, Remo Stars amassed a total of 68 points from 35 matches, placing them a commanding 10 points ahead of second-placed Rivers United. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as Remo Stars become the first privately owned club to win the NPFL title in 19 years, following the success of Ocean Boys in 2006. Their remarkable performance throughout the season has earned them the opportunity to represent Nigeria in the prestigious CAF Champions League.

The historic win has garnered congratulations from notable figures, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, who have recognized the significance of this achievement for the club and Nigerian football.
