Wembanyama`s absence due to allergies didn`t stop the Spurs from a close 105-103 loss to the Heat.

Victor Wembanyama missed the San Antonio Spurs` game against the Miami Heat due to an undisclosed illness, later identified as allergies affecting him since the team`s return from France. This marked the sixth game he has missed this season. Despite his absence, the Spurs delivered a competitive performance but narrowly lost 105-103.

Bam Adebayo emerged as the hero for the Heat, sinking a clutch 19-foot jumper as time expired, finishing the game with 30 points and 13 rebounds. Terry Rozier, returning from a federal investigation, contributed 19 points, while Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. added 14 and 10 points, respectively. For the Spurs, Keldon Johnson led the scoring with 19 points, and Devin Vassell chipped in with 18. Charles Bassey stepped up in Wembanyama`s absence, scoring nine points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

The game`s pivotal moment came when Spurs point guard Chris Paul missed a crucial 19-foot jumper with just five seconds left, preventing the team from tying the game. The Spurs had a solid record of 9-3 when Johnson scores at least 15 points, but they couldn`t capitalize on his efforts this time. The Heat secured their third win in four games, while the Spurs are set to embark on their annual lengthy road trip due to a livestock show and rodeo event at the Frost Bank Center, with their next matchup against Memphis on Monday night. The Heat will face the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday night.
