Jokic shines as Nuggets take play-off series lead

The Denver Nuggets, the defending NBA champions, defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-97 to take a 3-2 lead in their Western Conference play-off semi-final series thanks to 40 points from Nikola Jokic.

Last week, the Serbian won the league's Most Valuable Player award three times, and he accepted the honor prior to the game in Denver.

Following the Nuggets' defeats in their first two semi-final games, Jokic, 29, contributed 13 assists and seven rebounds to help turn the series around.
