Audi to be granted increased budget cap

Formula 1 will modify its budget cap starting in 2026 to compensate for the expenses of teams based in nations with higher wages. This will aid Audi's efforts to compete when it formally joins F1 in a little more than a year.
The Sauber team was acquired by Audi. They are headquartered in Switzerland, where wages are 35–45% higher than in the UK or Italy, where the other nine teams are headquartered.
