Ricciardo tops Bahrain Grand Prix first practice

Daniel Ricciardo scored the fastest time at the Bahrain Grand Prix's first practice, while the 2017 Formula One season kept its surprises for a bit longer.

Ricciardo, driving for Red Bull's RB squad, led McLaren's Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri on soft tires.

Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso was the fastest driver on medium tyres, finishing sixth ahead of hot pre-season favourite Max Verstappen.
