Formula 1 is marking a monumental milestone with the celebration of its 75th anniversary, commemorating the first-ever World Championship race held at Silverstone on May 13, 1950. Giuseppe ‘Nino’ Farina triumphed in that inaugural event, driving for Alfa Romeo and becoming the first world champion of the season. To honor this historic occasion, Formula 1 has released colorized footage of the groundbreaking grand prix and is streaming seven full races over 24 hours on its official YouTube channel. Fans can enjoy highlights and reflections from current drivers and team bosses, adding a nostalgic layer to the festivities.

In addition to the F1 celebrations, motorsports enthusiasts in the UK are gearing up for the 2025 Indy 500. Practice sessions commenced on May 13, with the main race scheduled for May 25 at 5:30 PM BST. Known for its thrilling competition, the Indy 500 features all drivers racing in the same Dallara DW12 chassis. Last year`s nail-biting finish saw Josef Newgarden narrowly defeat Pato O`Ward by just 0.3 seconds. The weather forecast looks promising, with no rain expected to disrupt the main qualifying days or the race itself.

Families can also look forward to a special display of Disney and Pixar`s Cars at Brands Hatch during American SpeedFest 12 on June 7 and 8, adding a fun, family-friendly motorsports attraction to the calendar.
