Slater Shines in GB3 Championship Opener at Silverstone

Freddie Slater dominated the GB3 Championship opener at Silverstone, while Historic Formula Ford saw Morris and Jones make headlines.

Freddie Slater showcased his dominance in the opening weekend of the GB3 Championship at Silverstone, clinching two impressive victories for Hillspeed in the new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 machine. In race two, Slater built a commanding 10-second lead before a late safety car intervened, solidifying his status as a top contender in the series.

Will Macintyre of Elite Motorsport secured his fourth GB3 win in the reversed-grid race after polesitter Keanu Al Azhari from Hitech faced a track limits penalty. Patrick Heuzenroeder of Xcel Motorsport and Kai Daryanani rounded out the podium, showcasing the competitive spirit of the championship.

In Historic Formula Ford at Snetterton, veteran racer Morris triumphed in the Classic FF1600 opener, while Kevin Jones made headlines by finishing in the ADA Janspeed Triumph TR8 turbo, a historic Le Mans 1980 entry that had never completed a race until now, despite retiring on Sunday due to oil pressure issues.

Jason Timms dominated both 1000cc F3 races in his Brabham BT21, engaging in a thrilling slipstream battle with Peter de la Roche in the Alexis Mk17 on Sunday. The 2025 British Superbike Championship will be broadcast globally via Motorsport.tv, featuring 11 rounds, including Assen, following Kyle Ryde`s narrow title win in 2023. Aston Martin`s F1 team continues to struggle, earning only 10 points in the first five races of 2025, a stark contrast to their podium finishes in 2023.
