Tom Ingram from Team Vertu set the pace in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season opener at Donington Park, clocking a remarkable time of 1m07 during the first free practice session. His teammate, Tom Chilton, closely trailed with a time of +0.565s, while Ashley Sutton from NAPA Racing UK finished +0.740s behind Ingram in his Ford Focus ST.

In the British GT Championship, Optimum Racing showcased impressive speed during the opening practice at Silverstone. Mahiki Racing`s Lotus Emiras, driven by Jack Mitchell and Steven Lake, excelled in the GT4 category, indicating a strong start to the season.
