Keith Cronin aims for his fifth BRC title as the championship kicks off with fierce competition.

The British Rally Championship (BRC) is set for an exhilarating season as competitors gear up for the East Riding Stages Rally. Irishman Keith Cronin, driving a Citroen C3 Rally2, is on the hunt for a record-equalling fifth BRC title. After a setback due to Storm Eowyn, Cronin emphasizes the need for a strong performance to improve his chances following a rocky start last year.

Challenging Cronin will be William Creighton, who has switched to the MEM Castrol team to pilot a Toyota Yaris Rally2. Creighton acknowledges the significance of the season opener, which promises to be intense and potentially slippery. Other notable entrants include James Williams in a Hyundai, James Ford and Callum Black in Citroens, and Romet Jurgenson, the reigning Junior world champion, who is making his debut in UK rallying. Max McRae, part of the legendary McRae family, is also in contention for the BRC crown.

In Formula 1, the Racing Bulls team has undergone a significant rebranding and is focused on enhancing competitiveness with their new VCARB 02 car. Team principal Laurent Mekies is optimistic about the team`s potential despite acknowledging early-season challenges. Meanwhile, the Aston Martin THOR Team is making strides with its Valkyrie project, preparing for a demanding season across multiple championships.
