Claressa Shields has cast doubt on her future in MMA, hinting at a potential end to her career after just three fights in the Professional Fighters League (PFL). With a current record of 2-1, Shields expressed concerns about her ability to dedicate sufficient time to training for MMA while also pursuing her boxing ambitions. Her MMA journey began with a comeback victory against Brittney Elkin in 2021, but a split decision loss to Abigail Montes at the PFL World Championship proved to be a significant hurdle. Although she rebounded with a win over Kelsey DeSantis last February, her recent comments suggest a shift back to boxing, where she has found success.

Since her last MMA bout, Shields has continued to excel in boxing, securing two victories, including a knockout against Vanessa Lepage-Joanisse and a decision win over Danielle Perkins.
