Ex-France coach Blanc named Al-Ittihad manager

Laurent Blanc, a former France coach, has been appointed as Al-Ittihad's next manager in the Saudi Pro League.

Blanc departed Lyon under "mutual agreement" with the team that was at the bottom of Ligue 1, and hasn't had a job since September 2023.

Marcelo Gallardo, who left at the end of 2023–24 after failing to make it into the Asian Champions League, is replaced by the 58-year-old.
