Real Madrid`s historic 3-1 win over Barcelona in the women`s Clásico keeps their Liga F title hopes alive.

Real Madrid made history by defeating Barcelona 3-1 in the women`s Clásico, marking their first-ever victory against their rivals. The match took place at the Olympic Stadium on March 23, 2025. Alba Redondo set the tone for Real Madrid by scoring the opening goal in the 41st minute. However, Barcelona`s Caroline Graham Hansen equalized in the 67th minute, bringing the match back to level terms.

In a thrilling finish, Caroline Weir emerged as the hero for Real Madrid, netting two crucial goals in the dying moments of the game, with strikes in the 87th and 90+6 minutes. This victory not only boosts Real Madrid`s morale but also keeps their title aspirations alive, narrowing the gap with Barcelona to just four points in Liga F. Currently, Barcelona leads the league with 63 points from 23 matches, while Real Madrid follows closely with 59 points from the same number of games.

Meanwhile, the men`s team is actively seeking to strengthen their squad, particularly in the left-back position, after missing out on Alphonso Davies, who renewed his contract with Bayern Munich. Real Madrid is considering several options, including Girona`s Miguel Gutierrez, for whom they have a buyback option.
