Cornell`s CJ Kirst Shines in NCAA Lacrosse Rankings

Cornell leads NCAA lacrosse rankings with CJ Kirst, while Penn`s Anna Brandt shines in women`s play.

Cornell University has claimed the top spot in the NCAA DI Men’s Lacrosse Committee`s Top 10 rankings, leading the pack as the No. 1 seed. The Big Red, featuring Tewaaraton favorite CJ Kirst, boasts a strong RPI of 3 and a strength of schedule ranked 13th, making them a formidable contender for the upcoming NCAA tournament. Following Cornell are Maryland, Princeton, and Penn State, among others.

In the Mid-American Conference, Eastern Michigan University`s Tracy Grollman has been recognized as the MAC Offensive Player of the Week. Meanwhile, the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) saw Duke`s Malever and Notre Dame`s Ramsey earn weekly honors, with four ACC teams, including Notre Dame at No. 6 and North Carolina at No. 8, ranked in the top 10 of the USILA Coaches poll.

On the women`s side, the University of Pennsylvania`s women`s lacrosse team secured a spot in the 2025 Ivy League Tournament after impressive victories over Princeton and Cornell. Senior midfielder Anna Brandt made headlines by tying a program record with nine goals against Cornell, earning USA Lacrosse Division I Women’s Player of the Week honors. The Quakers currently hold a 4-2 record in league play, tied for second place behind Princeton.

In Division II, Maria Palomba of Saint Leo led her team to the Sunshine State Conference semifinals, while Maddie McDonald of Roanoke has been pivotal in her team`s success in Division III.
