Cornell`s CJ Kirst Shines in Ivy League Lacrosse Action

Towson and Cornell excelled in recent lacrosse matches, with CJ Kirst and standout players earning accolades in the Ivy League.

Towson triumphed over Fairfield with a decisive 14-9 victory, driven by an Archbishop Spalding alum who netted four goals and provided two assists, leading the CAA Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards. In the Ivy League, Cornell’s CJ Kirst showcased his offensive prowess, scoring three goals in a rapid 41 seconds during a 13-9 win against Dartmouth. His performance earned him the title of Offensive Player of the Week.

Dartmouth`s Mason Morel also made headlines, receiving the Defensive Player of the Week accolade for his impressive 20 saves, including a remarkable 9-of-11 in the first half, which helped Dartmouth establish an 8-2 halftime lead. The Ivy League standings are heating up, with No. 1 Cornell boasting an 11-1 overall record and a perfect 5-0 in league play, following a strong 20-12 victory over No. 10 Harvard. Meanwhile, No. 2 Princeton (10-2 overall, 4-1 Ivy) overcame a slow start to defeat the Penn Quakers 12-8, with goalie Croddick leading the league in save percentage at 59.2%.

As the MCLA quarterfinals approach, Arkansas and North Texas prepare for a clash, with the winner advancing to face Texas State/Rice in the semifinals. The lacrosse season is intensifying, with standout performances shaping the landscape of upcoming tournaments and playoffs.
