Columbus Shines as Army Dominates Lacrosse Rankings

Bo Columbus excels for Robert Morris, while Army West Point`s players shine in the lacrosse rankings and ACC Championship.

Bo Columbus of Robert Morris made headlines by tying a school record with 18 groundballs in a victory over VMI, showcasing his dominance on the field. His performance, along with winning 15+ faceoffs in four consecutive matches, earned him a spot on the USILA`s 2025 Men’s Lacrosse Team of the Week.

In a thrilling matchup, Michael Gianforcaro from North Carolina recorded 12 saves, leading his team to an 8-7 victory over No. 12 Duke. Meanwhile, CJ Kirst of Cornell scored five goals and assisted three in a significant win against No. 4 Syracuse, further elevating his team`s status. Matt Traynor of Penn State also made waves, scoring seven goals in a 10-4 win over No. 19 Johns Hopkins, setting Big Ten records for goals and points in a game.

Army West Point, currently ranked No. 4 nationally with a 10-1 record, has four players on the Tewaaraton Award Top-25 Finalist List. Evan Plunkett, Sean Byrne, AJ Pilate, and Jackson Eicher have all contributed significantly to the team`s success, with Byrne leading the nation in save percentage.
