Mason Cook Shines in Patriot League Lacrosse Honors

Mason Cook`s stellar performance earns him dual Patriot League honors, while Army`s Fournier and Coletti also shine.

Mason Cook, a freshman attack from Loyola Maryland, has made headlines in the Patriot League by earning both Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors. He showcased his skills by scoring eight goals and providing five assists across two games, including a standout performance where he became the first Loyola freshman since Pat Spencer in 2016 to tally 10 points in a single game during a commanding 21-10 victory over Holy Cross.

On the defensive end, Christian Fournier, a senior long stick midfielder from Army West Point, was recognized as Defensive Player of the Week. He played a pivotal role in Army`s thrilling 12-11 overtime win against Navy, causing four turnovers and collecting six ground balls. Fournier currently leads NCAA Division I with an impressive average of 3.30 caused turnovers per game.

Will Coletti, also from Army West Point, secured Faceoff Specialist of the Week honors for the second time this season, dominating at the faceoff `X` with a 17-of-23 performance and nine ground balls. Meanwhile, Lafayette`s Joe Doherty earned Goalkeeper of the Week accolades after making 11 saves in an upset victory over Boston University.

The current Patriot League standings feature Army West Point at the top with a 5-1 record, closely followed by Boston University and Lehigh, both at 4-2. As the league prepares for its tournaments, teams like Princeton, Maryland, and Army are being highlighted as strong contenders for NCAA tournament seeds.
