Army Women and Rutgers Men Shine in Lacrosse

Army West Point and Rutgers achieved significant victories in lacrosse, with standout performances from Reilly, Duffy, and Zeller.

Army West Point women`s lacrosse celebrated a thrilling 16-13 victory over American, showcasing the impressive performances of Allison Reilly and Brigid Duffy, who each netted six goals. The team`s dominance in draw control, winning 24 of 33 draws, played a pivotal role in their fourth-quarter comeback.

In men`s lacrosse, Rutgers achieved a historic milestone by defeating No. 2 Maryland 8-6, marking the highest-ranked victory in the program`s history. Colin Zeller led the charge with three goals, while Cardin Stoller made a remarkable 14 saves and even contributed a goal to secure the win.

The University of Pennsylvania men`s lacrosse team faced a setback, losing to Yale 14-11 despite Griffin Scane`s standout performance, scoring a career-high five goals. Meanwhile, Detroit Mercy men’s lacrosse staged a dramatic comeback from a 9-4 deficit to triumph 10-9 in overtime against VMI, with Marcus Thundercloud scoring the decisive goal. Towson men’s lacrosse took the lead in the CAA by defeating Monmouth 12-10, thanks to Alex Roussel`s crucial late goals.
