Keene State`s women`s lacrosse team lost to Western Connecticut 14-8, while Gwynedd Mercy celebrated a record-setting win.

Keene State College women`s lacrosse team faced their first setback in the Little East Conference (LEC) on April 5, 2025, losing to Western Connecticut State University with a score of 14-8. Western Connecticut set the tone early, dominating the first quarter with an impressive seven goals, leaving Keene State struggling to recover.

Riley Devine and Lola Varricchione were the standout players for Keene State, each contributing three points with two goals and an assist. Katelyn Nicotera showcased her skills in goal, making 13 crucial saves for the Owls. On the other side, Molly Bresnahan had a solid performance for the Wolves, recording eight saves to help secure the victory.

In another notable match, the San Diego State Aztecs faced a tough challenge against No. 5 Florida, ultimately falling short with a score of 9-21. Meanwhile, Gwynedd Mercy University’s men’s lacrosse team celebrated a historic victory, defeating Centenary University 29-4 in the Atlantic East Conference. This match set new records for goals, assists, and points in a single game, with David Crespo leading the charge, achieving a program-record 10 points, including six goals and four assists.
